Quiet Technologies is preparing to deliver its BAC One-Eleven-500 engine hushkit demonstrator this month to European Aviation in time for a test programme starting in December.

Around 100 aircraft which could benefit from hushkits remain in operation, says UK-based European Aviation, which also hopes that a future adaptation of the modification from Florida-based Quiet will also attract operators of the One-Eleven-400. This was the only version to be certificated in the USA, and there are still around 12 corporate operators in the country.

The Bournemouth-based company has two One-Eleven-500s formerly operated by Austral of Argentina, and it is now working to modify the aircraft ready for installation of the prototype hushkit to the first aircraft.
