A hydrocarbon-fuelled supersonic-combustion ramjet ground-tested late last month at Mach 6 in a NASA Langley windtunnel will power a missile demonstrator under the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency/Office of Naval Research HyFly programme to develop technology for a M6, 1,100km (600nm)-range hypersonic strike weapon.
