International Aero Engines (IAE) has appointed an executive from within its ranks, Ian Aitken, to take the president and CEO position now held by Jon Beatty.
Beatty, who has held the top slot at the engine company since early 2007, is "returning to a senior position at United Technologies Corporation", according to an IAE press release issued today.
Aitken has been at IAE since June 2008, holding the position of executive vice president, customer business from Rolls-Royce. Before joining IAE, he spent nine years at president of corporate and regional aircraft at Rolls-Royce, a shareholder in IAE along with Pratt & Whitney, MTU and Japanese Aero Engines.
