Iberia is to reconfigure the Business Plus cabins of its Airbus A340 fleet to include fully flat beds.
Reconfiguration is scheduled to take place by March 2010.
The Spanish flag carrier will remove one row of business class seats on its A340-300 and A340-600 aircraft on routes between Spain and the US, Latin America, South Africa and Tel Aviv.
Business Plus seat count will reduce on Iberia's 20 A340-300s, from 42 to 36, and on its 12 A340-600s, from 52 to 42.
Two A340-300 and one A340-600 aircraft have already been reconfigured, with the premium cabin retaining its 2x2x2 format.
The changes to Iberia's Business Plus cabin are part of the Spanish airline's €150 million ($220 million) 'Total Customer Care' programme, which includes upgrading the lounges at Madrid-Barajas airport.
