Lockheed Martin Sanders has completed successful initial airborne fast-deploy testing of the fibre-optic towed decoy for its Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (IDECM) system. Six mass model decoys were deployed from launch canisters pod-mounted on a Learjet and Saab Draken to check speed and stability of deployment. The IDECM is due to enter service in 2003 on the Boeing F/A-18E/F, and later the Rockwell B-1B.
