Long haul economy class passengers could soon be feeling reenergised during the flight thanks to a new integrated keep-fit studio.

The novel space-saving sports facility will give airborne passengers who are suffering discomfort, the chance to get their circulation moving. An example of the A-Mobilizer equipment is being showcased by B&W.

“Passengers in small seats, particularly those found in economy class, often suffer discomfort on long-haul flights. This ‘exercise machine’ will help invigorate passengers,” says B&W’s ceo Hubert Walter.

The all-in-one machine, can be easily fitted in to any commercial aircraft, is not intended as a piece of gym equipment but more to act as a health benefit.

“We all have travel zones in our body that can be affected by sitting in tight spaces, especially tall people.  The first zone is the neck that suffers, then the backbone. The machine has a pulling down mechanism to help reenergise these areas, as well as massage the back”

“The third zone is the legs and feet. A few minutes on the parallel stepping machine will really help get blood circulating and combat against deep vein thrombosis, a health worry with many passengers,” says Walter.
