RRJ decision

Sukhoi expects Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) to decide by the end of the year whether to select the Russian Regional Jet as a standard regional type for its network of affiliated and subsidiary regional carriers (Flight International, 2-8 May). RRJ programme director Victor Soubbotin said at ILA that the Scandinavian carrier was “waiting for our proposals in terms of leasing”, and added: “We are now having regular meetings and by the end of the year we expect them to take a decision. We still need to put some efforts into the exact configuration, financing, guarantees on operating costs and after-sales support.”

737 support

Lufthansa Technik has won a contract from KrasAir to provide component support for the Russian carrier’s 11 Boeing 737-500s at its hubs in Krasnoyarsk and Moscow Domodedovo. The 737s will be operated by KrasAir in AiRUnion colours to tourist destinations in Europe.
