Israeli-US company Imagesat has received $300 million in orders for images from its Eros 1 earth observation satellite, which was launched on 5 December. The first Eros, which weighs 250kg (550lb) and has a monochromatic resolution of about 1.5m (5ft), orbits the Earth at an altitude of 480km (300 miles).
