The UK Civil Aviation Authority is reducing the additional requirements for import (ARIs) on a number of business jets weighing over 5,700kg, following pressure from the UK General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMTA). The trade body has been battling to make UK-registered aircraft competitively priced by removing the ARI levy. "Air-craft have been reviewed with a view to making a case to retain ARI's seen as necessary to maintain airworthiness levels," says GAMTA. Two jets have been evaluated, Cessna's Citation Ultra and the Learjet 35A/36A. "Piston-twins with a longstanding service experience will have all ARI's deleted," adds GAMTA.
