To allow for visitors from domestic destinations, a separate, nearby, visitor airfield has been established, the main Avalon Airport being unavailable to visiting aircraft for the duration of the show. For business visitors, an ample range of accommodation is on offer at nearby Geelong and Melbourne. Every deficient aspect of Avalon's last air show, in October 1992 - display areas, public viewing and facilities, road access, parking areas and public transport - has been upgraded. Even the weather, which almost closed the last show at the eleventh hour, is typically far more reliable in March.
