South African Airways (SAA) chairman Mafika Mkwanazi has been appointed managing director of the airline's state-owned parent company Transnet. His replacement is Bheki Sibaya, who joins from Transnet.

Emmanuel Nze Bekale has been appointed as chairman of Air Gabon. The government is seeking to privatise the airline, which is part owned by Air France.

The Yugoslav Government has appointed Mihailo Vujnovic as director general of flag carrier Jugoslovenski Aerotransport (JAT). He has been executive director since 1995. His predecessor was killed by unidentified gunmen earlier this year.

Joe Saliba has been made president of outsourcing and software solutions at Sabre, following the resignation of Bradford Boston.

Jack Cole has been named senior director of safety at the Washington-based Air Transport Association.
