Lexian appointed Asia agent

AD Aerospace (A631), designer and maker of the FlightVu range of aircraft video systems, has appointed Lexian Electronics of Singapore as its agent for Asia, it was announced at the show.

Covering Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia, Lexian will offer FlightVu - for both retrofit and new build installation.

"Lexian Electronics is an excellent fit for us, with its wealth of experience in the Asian market and knowledge of the aerospace sector and avionics in particular."

FlightVu is used for internal and external monitoring of aircraft.

Rockwell to upgrade B-1B displays

Rockwell Collins (Stand A1011) has signed a $3.6 million contract to upgrade the displays on the USAF's Boeing B-1B.

Under the contract, Rockwell Collins will develop a 5x7in (12x17cm) colour multifunction display (MFD) containing common modules to support future growth to larger display sizes.

The active matrix liquid crystal display (AMLCD) is being installed as part of the Threat Situational Awareness System upgrade and will allow connectivity to Link 16, as well as other datalinks, for improved targeting and threat avoidance.

SAA picks PAVES for A319s

South African Airways has selected Rockwell Collins Programmable Audio Video Entertainment System (PAVES) for the airline's 11 new Airbus A319s, which are due for delivery this year. The African carrier already has PAVES installed on its fleet of Boeing 737-800s. The system provides overhead video and 24 channels of in-seat audio programming.

Sky set to fly with Garuda Indonesia

Garuda Indonesia will put into service three Boeing 747-400s equipped with Ibises International's Sky Media Centre 3000 (SMC 3000) in-flight entertainment system next month.

The manufacturer, which has been targeting Asian carriers with its low-cost IFE system, is also boosting its presence in the Middle East. It is opening an office in Dubai and partnering with Garuda's GMF AeroAsia maintenance subsidiary in Sharjah to install the SMC 3000 in the region.
