KLM chief financial officer and managing director Rob Ruijter has resigned and will leave the airline in December to take a similar job at Dutch publisher VNU. KLM is to appoint a non-statutory board member to take on Ruijter's finance responsibilities with his other duties divided among the three remaining statutory board members.

Air New Zealand's chief financial officer Shane Warbrick has resigned after declaring his work done. In December 2001 Warbrick joined ANZ during its near-collapse to help with its restructuring. Rob McDonald, his former deputy, is the new CFO.

Marc Kirner has returned to his native Canada as chief operating officer for Montreal-based Jetsgo after nine years with Bangkok Airways where he was vice-president of maintenance.

Alitalia has made Thierry Aucoc, 42, vice-president Europe. He comes from running its Latin operations.

ACI Europe has appointed Roy Griffins as its new director general. The former UK director general of civil aviation succeeds long-serving Philippe Hamon, who is retiring. Hamon is going to work for Macquarie Group.
