Air Car - believed to be India's first low-cost air taxi company - was launched in New Delhi on 23 November with the first two of 12 Cirrus SR22 GTS piston singles on order.
"Air Car is 50% cheaper than any available air charter service currently operating over similar distances and is priced competitively against a business-class airline fare," says Manav Singh, Air Car co-founder and managing director of Indian fractional ownership provider Club One Air.
Air Car, which is also headed by former Air Sahara chief executive Uttam Kumar Bose, is holding discussions with a number of small- to medium-sized companies, with the aim of establishing tailored transport packages for staff and executives.
