State-owned Indian Airlines has finally received clearance from India's Public Investment Board (PIB) for the acquisition of 43 Airbus narrowbody aircraft. The long-delayed deal still awaits clearance from the cabinet committee on economic affairs. The carrier intends to buy 19 A319s, four A320s and 20 A321s for roughly $2.1 billion.
