India has selected a Sextant inertial-navigation system (INS) and a Sopelem cockpit video recorder for use in its Mikoyan-led MiG-21 upgrade programme. Competitors for the INS were Sagem and Honeywell, while Vinten lost out in the video-recorder contest. It is believed that India has given local industry until June to come up with proposals to supply an indigenously developed radar- warning receiver.
