Indian firm GMR Infrastructure's airport business posted a 170% increase in earnings during its fiscal second quarter.
Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBIDTA) for the three months ending 30 September came in at 1.2 billion rupees ($26 million), compared to 446 million rupees in the corresponding period last year, says GMR. This was on a 5% rise in net revenues to 3.46 billion rupees, it adds.
GMR operates Delhi International Airport and Hyderabad International Airport in India, and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in Turkey. It says that Delhi airport had a 21% year-on-year rise in passenger traffic during the quarter, traffic was up 7% in Hyderabad, and 35% in Istanbul.
