India's GMR Infrastructure has reported that profits at its airports division went up by 190% in its fiscal first quarter.

The company, which operates Delhi International Airport and Hyderabad International Airport, says that profits before tax and interest reached 441.6 million Indian rupees in the three months to 30 June. This was up 289.7 million Indian rupees from the 151.9 million it made a year before.

Revenues at the division, which also operates Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in Turkey, were 3.21 billion Indian rupees, up from 2.77 billion Indian rupees.

The company's overall net profit, however, was down 72% at 240 million Indian rupees due to rising costs, rising interest payments and higher depreciation charges.
