A new-generation in-flight entertainment system is one of the highlights of the GMF AeroAsia stand (A507).
The Jakarta-based maintenance and repair organisation is showing an example of the Ibises International SMC-3000 lightweight IFE system originally developed by Californian company Global Aviation.
GMF AeroAsia is negotiating to install the system in the Boeing 737-400s of Indian carrier Sahara Airlines. GMF has just signed a $1 million contract with the airline for D-checks of these aircraft.
Present at the show for the third time, the company is looking forward to a busy week.
Iwan Zaiwansah, general manager marketing, says GMF plans to announce a number of new contracts over the next few days. They will cover maintenance of up to five 747-200s for Phuket Air of Thailand, JT8D engine and APU maintenance for Indonesia's Lion Air, MD-80 and 747-200 maintenance for Orient Thai Airlines, a D-check of the presidential Boeing 727.
