Authorised investors from more than 40 countries in six continents have filed intentions to invest more than $1 billion in the 76-member-country Inmarsat affiliate company, which, with 15% Inmarsat investment, will operate the $2.6 billion, Inmarsat P global hand-held satellite-telephone service starting in 1999-2000.
