Three Israeli companies have joined forces to enable an Asian customer to better train its soldiers in the use of unmanned air systems.
Innocon recently won a contract to supply its MiniFalcon II to an undisclosed Asian air force. According to chief executive Michael Armon, the deal includes six systems, each comprising three air vehicles and a ground control station. Deliveries will begin in July 2014.
Following the contract award, Innocon has teamed with Israel's Simlat and Britannica Knowledge Systems to provide the customer with the tools required to train its personnel. Operators are increasingly demanding such a package, which ensures the optimal entry of the UAS into operational service, Armon says.
Simlat is providing simulation systems for UAS operators that are designed to improve its mission capabilities, while Britannica has developed a web-based training management system. This supports training, operational scheduling and readiness.
The MiniFalcon II has a maximum take-off weight of around 170kg (375lb), including a 35kg payload, and can deliver a flight endurance of 15h at altitudes of up to 15,000ft (4,570m).
