China has established its first space-insurance consortium consisting of nine insurance companies, including People's Insurance of China, China Pacific Insurance and Pingan Insurance. It will complement its commercial-launcher service, which received a boost on 20 August with the successful launch of the Long March 3B, China's most powerful geostationary-orbit launcher.
