MBDA has moved closer to air-launched demonstrations of its Meteor beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile, with key integration flights in December. A Saab JAS39A Gripen flew with a Meteor avionics round and will fire the first weapon early in 2006. A French navy Dassault Rafale M flew with the Meteor from the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and a UK Royal Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon also began trials.
