Candian Company CMC Electronics claims to be an “innovative solutions provider”. But what does that mean? Marketing manager for Asia Pacific Loring MacKenzie says integration is the key: “This means not just simply a product but we put it all together into one package. Any company can build a box or create some software, but being able to integrate these products for the right mission is what differentiates our service.

One of the components CMC is displaying here is its CMA-2610, enhanced vision system (EVS). “EVS is becoming more accepted in Asia. There have been several accidents over the last two years in the region, mainly involving military helicopters because of bad weather. Our EVS system provides enhanced situational awareness that helps pilots fly safer in poorer conditions,” says MacKenzie.

MacKenzie also believes that its real value is from the added operational ability, as well as the enhanced safety. “Many operators in the North American business jet market are using this system and it lets them get into airports that might otherwise be inaccessible.”

On display here, the EVS system is coupled to its PilotView EFB as part of its integrated solutions aspect. However, the EVS can also be fitted to a dedicated monitor.
