Andrew Browne has been appointed vice-president and chief financial officer at international satellite organisation Intelsat, of Washington DC. He is director of finance, worldwide operations and strategic marketing for Advanced Micro Devices of Sunnyvale, California. He replaces David Tudge, who will remain an advisor to the director-general, until his retirement at the end of the year. Claude Burgio will become vice-president for engineering on 1 May 1996, on the retirement of Pierre Madon. Burgio is director for the telecommunications satellites and systems division at Aerospatiale of France. Conny Kullman, now vice-president and chief information officer, is named vice-president for operations and information systems. Gary Smith is appointed vice-president for sales and marketing. He is now vice-president of sales and marketing in the USA for Cray Communications, covering North and South America. Kath Rooney becomes director of human resources. She is now head of human resources, Europe, for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and replaces Jane Kinzie, who has retired. Thomas Neuman has been appointed director of procurement. He has held the same position at Inmarsat since 1992. He will replace James Johnson, who is to retire this year.
