Interactive Flight Technologies is exhibiting at Paris for the first time, displaying the video-on-demand in-flight entertainment network (IFEN) which Alitalia has selected for its McDonnell Douglas MD-11s. The system will allow passengers to select from up to 30 films, stored digitally and downloaded to each seat, all of which can be started, stopped or paused at any time, the company says. The system uses large, high-resolution, liquid-crystal touch-screen displays in each seat. Flight trials begin in July on an Alitalia MD-11.
