Airbus is expanding seating options for the A350 catalogue by adding three more business class seats for operators of the aircraft.

The airframer will sign a deal with Jamco America during Aircraft Interiors in Hamburg under which the latter will become an A350 XWB contracted supplier for premium seating and will offer its Journey premium seat for the aircraft. It is available in a six or seven abreast forward facing seat.

Airbus has also teamed with existing A350 contracted supplier EADS Sogerma with its Equinox premium seat, which is available in six-abreast configuration. Until now the firm's Solstys model is the only Business Class seat in the A350 catalogue.

The manufacturer will also shortly enter an agreement with Simca for the latter to become an A350 contracted supplier. Sicma is already carrying out a technical study on its Cirrus and Arcus seats for inclusion in the catalogue. The Cirrus is a wide seat for a four-abreast, herringbone configuration and the new Arca seat offers a seven-abreast forward facing seat. All the seats transform into a full-flat bed.

Airbus vice president marketing Bob Lange says the catalogue additions show the airframer's desire to evolve its offerings. "We want to demonstrate that the catalogue is a platform for innovation, not a block to it," he says.
