Iacobucci says that it is presenting the dawn of a new era in flight trolleys on stand 7F20.
Presenting its new ATS galley cart, the manufacturer believes it is bringing something new to the marketplace.
Yet in launching the ATS, Iacobucci is actually revisiting the past by returning to its roots in trolley design. Founded in 1972 as a company manufacturing trolleys for aviation and trains, it recently reacquired its trolley division.
Designer of the ATS, Patrick McEneany of BMW Group DesignworksUSA which collaborated with Iacobucci on the project, says: "Our brief was to design the cart of the future, but maintaining robustness."
Its die-cast aluminium frame is constructed from only eight parts and contains few screws and features rounded edges. According to McEneany it weighs 16kg with full features, while the half size version weighs less than 10kg.
Riccardo Palmeri, Iacobucci's marketing director says the trolley brings galley inserts in line with the ergonomic and weight-saving changes happening to cabin interiors. "We believe that the industry needed something new, cabin interiors are changing, but galley inserts are not. We think it needed a new product with better ergonomic design and more efficiency."
