LSG Sky Chefs has struck an exclusive strategic partnership with Irish company Retail in Motion (RIM).
RIM is a provider of buy-on-board and retail business solutions for airlines, and besides focusing on product development, it also offers an IT platform.
Within the framework of the agreement, the partners say they will offer end-to-end in-flight retail management solutions. The offering is focused on maximising in-flight retail revenues through a sector-specific enterprise resource planning solution combined with an IT infrastructure called "Vector".
"With this alliance we combine the innovation of the industry-leading in-flight retail IT technology with the strength of the world's largest in-flight service provider in order to provide a first-in-class product and service to our customers," says Dr Joseph Elias, CEO and founder of RIM.
"This complementary partnership will enable us to further penetrate the growing buy-on-board and retail market segments," says Erdmann Rauer, LSG Sky Chefs chief commercial officer.
