Panasonic Avionics has won a contract from international leisure travel group TUI Travel to install in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) solutions across the company's fleet of aircraft, including its forthcoming Boeing 787 aircraft.
Under terms of the agreement, Panasonic will install its eX2 IFEC solution with the latest generation 'Eco Series' integrated smart monitor on the airline's 787 aircraft.
Additionally, Panasonic will install digital multiplexed passenger entertainment systems (DMPES), including the company's latest generation of 12.1in digital overhead monitors, on Boeing 737-800 aircraft featuring the Boeing Sky Interior. Two TUI operators, Thomson Airways and Arkefly, have also selected the Panasonic "total care solution" for their Boeing 767 and 787 aircraft based in the UK and Netherlands.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
