A $800,000 investment in new machinery which has cut lead times and production costs means that BAS Components is approaching Paris '97 in buoyant mood.

The company, formed in 1993 through a merger between BAS (Aircraft Components) and Bintcliffe Turner, has its British manufacturing bases in Kent and South Wales and a marketing and distribution operation in the USA.

Managing director Peter Kemsley says: "We are meeting the requirements of our aerospace customers for quick response and cost-effectiveness in component supply." These customers included GEC-Marconi, British Aerospace and Smiths Industries.

Visitors to the BAS stand in Hall 2 /J12 will also be able to learn about the installation of a new $370,000 MRPII computer system designed to optimise service levels.
