Indonesian aircraft manufacturer Industri Pesawat Terbang Nusantara (IPTN) has marked its 14th anniversary with a name change. The company will now be known domestically as Dirgantara Indonesia, while its international name will be Indonesian Aerospace.

The manufacturer says the name change is part of a revamp which has already seen numerous internal restructuring measures, including the separation of core fixed wing activities from helicopter manufacture and other peripheral business areas, and the reduction of its workforce from 16,000 to around 11,000 people.

The company still regards China as a key candidate to provide the remaining $90 million in funding required to complete certification of the N250 turboprop (Flight International, 29 August - 4 September). "We will see whether they are serious or not," says Indonesian Aerospace.
