A further two Motorola Iridium mobile communications satellites were launched from Taiyuan, China, on 20 August by a Long March 2C/SD booster. This brings to 74 the number of spacecraft launched so far in the programme, of which 67 are operational. China has now launched eight Iridium satellites on four lift offs.
