Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has been awarded a $35 million contract to supply the next generation of its Ehud autonomous air combat manoeuvering instrumentation (AACMI) system to an Asian air force.
IAI said the system will provide a significant leap in performance to modern joint training capabilities for air, ground and naval forces.
The new AACMI system incorporates wireless communication with the host aircraft's avionics equipment, and introduces new simulation concepts, an improved data link, greater processing power and increased data and security, the company said.
The system is designed to meet future concepts of military training, which include complex weapon systems and the distributed use of live, virtual and constructive simulations.
