Israel and Singapore have a lot in common. "We are both small, independent nations in a potentially hostile part of the world," says Dita Gurevitz of Israel's Export Institute.

"We see Singapore as the gateway to Southeast Asia and as such it is very important for us to be here. Israel needs to export and all of the 13 companies represented here do very good business with Singapore."

Israel is now the fifth-largest arms exporter in the world and the range of products on display at AA2000 is huge - from Elbit Systems' airborne computers, displays, data links and moving map equipment to Tadiran Spectralink's advanced datalinks for UAV, space platforms and guided weapons,

"We have some companies that export 50-70% of their output to this region, so I think there will be plenty of interest," Gurevitz says.
