The Israeli air force will be the launch customer for the Elisra passive airborne-warning system (PAWS).

The air force will equip its transport helicopters with the system.

According to Elisra, the PAWS will provide the helicopter with a reliable and accurate warning against surface-air and air-air missiles .The PAWS is used to detect the missile's exhaust plume radiation and tracks it, using an infra-red sensor. The air force has also tested a competitive system which was developed by Rafael.
