Agreement Israel’s participation the US Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) programme remains on hold despite an agreement between the two nations to resume defence ties. Relations had been strained following Washington DC’s protests over Israeli arms sales to China. The block on Israel’s participation in the JSF will stay in place until the Israeli parliament passes legislation limiting military exports to certain countries. In February 2002 Israel joined JSF as a security co-operation participant. The dispute over exports has left Israeli industry with limited potential JSF participation.
