Israel’s defence force is the first customer for Israel Aircraft Industries’ (IAI) Twister multi-mission joint operations control system, which combines outputs from airborne, land and maritime sensors to cut engagement times, writes Arie Egozi.

Developed by IAI’s MLM division and Israeli software house Ness TSG, the Twister net-centric operations centre was first displayed at June’s Paris air show. “This system arranges the data in such a way that the commander can make decisions and allocate the most capable platform to destroy the target,” says Offer Haruvi, general manager of IAI’s new command and control development centre.

The scaleable system provides spatial visualisation of sensor information using 3D models, says IAI.
