Israel's Elbit Systems has demonstrated the ability to catapult-launch its Hermes 450 unmanned air vehicle as part of its bid for the Australian army's Joint Project 129 tactical UAV requirement. The demonstration was conducted at a test range on the Golan Heights in mid-April using an MC2055L pneumatic catapult developed by Robonic of Finland with a launch rail length of 18m (59ft).
