Israeli charter airline Israir is looking to dispose of its two leased Boeing 737-700s as it needs a larger aircraft to boost capacity.

Israir has appointed Fortis Aviation to remarket the two 146-seat aircraft and is seeking larger 180-seat 737-400s or -800s, "to allow us to implement our expansion plans", says the airline's chief executive Michael Gat.

The 737-700s were delivered last year on five-year leases from Pembroke and Israir wants to sublease the aircraft from November for the rest of the term.

The private Israeli airline, which operates charter flights to Middle Eastern and European destinations, recently asked the Israeli civil aviation authority to grant it scheduling rights on routes that El Al is not currently operating.
