It's better to go by ground transport

Sir - Mr Mildwater may well be advised not to take up Capt Mark Zucal's offer to fly with him to Kuala Tregganu in the circumstances outlined ("In defence of pilots", Letters, Flight International, 12-18 June, P61). As this short flight sounds so hazardous, the best advice would be to use surface transport.

If the offer is accepted, Mr Mildwater should consider investing in a hand-held global-positioning system, so that he could help out with the apparent lack of navigation aids on Capt Zucal's aircraft.
