Australian light aircraft manufacturer Jabiru Aircraft is in talks with Seabird Aviation Jordan on a deal to assemble and support Jabiru aircraft in Jordan.

The talks involve Jabiru's four-seat J400 in the Middle East and North African markets, says Omar Massarweh, commercial operations manager of Seabird Aviation Jordan. The prospective partners are in the final stages of negotiations. A deal is expected soon, says Massarweh.

Seabird Aviation Jordan would target private users, training organisations and aero clubs in the region with the J400, which is available in kit form or assembled.

Jabiru has sold more than 150 J-series aircraft, including the two-seat J200.

Seabird Aviation Jordan is a joint venture, formed by Australian company Seabird Aviation and Jordan's King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau, set up to assemble Seabird's Seeker at Jordan's Queen Alia International airport.
