Japan Airlines will commence a codeshare arrangement with Indian carrier Vistara offering onward connections to seven cities from Delhi on 28 February.
The codeshare arrangement will cover around 32 Vistara-operated flights from Delhi to Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune.
Those codeshare flights will connect with JAL’s daily Tokyo Narita-Delhi services, which Cirium schedules data shows it operates daily with Boeing 787-9s.
“The number of passengers traveling between Japan and India has increased over time,” says JAL executive officer Hideki Oshima. “By strengthening the partnership with Vistara, we will be able to provide better network access for our mutual customers. And, we look to further cooperate with Vistara to open up additional opportunities for both airlines.”
JAL was an early interline partner with Vistara before entering into the codeshare arrangement.
