Japan Airlines will implement a new codeshare agreement with TAM on routes between North America, Europe and Brazil from 25 March.

Under the deal, JAL will initially place its code on TAM-operated services from Sao Paulo to London and Paris, and from Sao Paulo to nine domestic destinations in Brazil.

From 1 April, the codeshare will expand to include the routes from Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to New York and Frankfurt-Sao Paulo. It will also codeshare on Sao Paulo-Curtiba and Rio de Janeiro to six other domestic cities will also commence on the same date.

The final step of the agreement will be implemented on 8 April, with JAL adding its code to services from Sao Paulo to Iguazu and Fortaleza, and from Rio de Janeiro to Salvador and Iguazu.

JAL’s agreement with fellow Oneworld carrier TAM is in addition to its existing codeshare arrangements on Brazil routes with American Airlines.

TAM also has a codeshare agreement with All Nippon Airways covering North America-Brazil routes.
