Japan Airlines plans to begin a new service from Tokyo's Narita Airport to Okinawa from 5 January.

This will allow for "more convenient connections of international flights to and from such vital domestic points in Japan via Narita", says the Oneworld alliance carrier.

The airline adds that from 1 November, it will also increase the frequency of flights from Narita to Nagoya and Narita to Fukuoka to thrice daily from twice daily.

"JAL will continue reviewing its passenger and cargo network, and expects to make further amendments to its routes, fleet and flight frequencies. Changes will be announced when they have been confirmed," says the airline.
