Japanese business jet charter operator Global Wings is to commence a non-stop Japan-China service when it takes possession of a Learjet 45XR.
Tokyo-based Global Wings signed a contract for one 45XR, with an option on a second, here at the show yesterday.
Tak Masamura, president and chief executive of Global Wings, says the aircraft will be based and registered in Beijing.
"The Learjet 45XR offers optimised performance and a spacious cabin - and ideal combination for superior charter service and passenger comfort."
The aircraft will fly Global Wings passengers non-stop from Japan to major northern and central Chinese cities, Hong Kong and Manila.
It is designed specifically to meet customer need in the evolving premium super-light business jet segment.
Stresses
The Bombardier Learjet 45XR can carry up to eight passengers and two crew a maximum of 3,717km (2,000nm) at cruise speeds up to Mach 0.81 and altitudes up to 51,000ft (15,500m).
Bombardier stresses the potential of the Learjet market in the region, saying it delivered a Learjet 60 to an Australian operator last month.
A second will be delivered in the spring. Subic International Air Charter, the Philippines-based Flexjet Asia-Pacific partner, took delivery of a Learjet 60 last year.
"Operators in Asia-Pacific are increasingly recognising how well suited the Learjet 60 is to their needs," says regional vice-president sales David Dixon.
"Its unmatched time-to-climb speed gets you well above congested air traffic and bad weather in minimum time - significant factors in this region."
