Russia's Oboronprom helicopter has received an order from Japan's Morikava Shoji Kaisha for a Kamov Ka-32A11BC helicopter. The aircraft is scheduled for delivery in late June and will be deployed by Akagi Helicopters for passenger and cargo transport.

Oboronprom says it expects additional orders from Japan once the helicopter has completed operational trials. The Ka-32AIIBC is the only Russian helicopter type certificated in the West following its approval by Transport Canada in 1998.

Meanwhile, Russian president Vladimir Putin recently signed a joint venture agreement with Jordan through which Ka-226 helicopters will be assembled locally from Russian kits.
