The Japan Defence Agency is reported to be at an "advanced stage" of negotiations to buy an air-launched missile decoy system from Israel Air Industries (IAI). Japan is interested in the IAI Improved Tactical Air-Launched Decoy (ITALD) system, originally developed by Brunswick, for its fleet of McDonnell Douglas/Mitsubishi F-15J and new Mitsubishi F-2A fighters.
