The Japan National Police Agency (JPNA) has ordered two AgustaWestland GrandNew helicopters.
The two GrandNews will be used in Japan's Saga and Tottori prefectures, AgustaWestland said in a statement. The order will bring the number of AgustaWestland light twin helicopters operating in Japan to 25.
"This latest order is further evidence of the growing success we have experienced in the Japanese helicopter market in recent years, meeting commercial, government and military requirements by offering the best solutions and establishing strong relationships with our local partners," says AgustaWestland Japan president Andrew Symonds. "We are committed to building on this success by offering the best solutions for future rotorcraft requirements in Japan."
The GrandNew is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PWC207C engines. It can be operated by one or two pilots and carry six or seven passengers.
