The launch of the US-French Jason 1 oceanographic satellite, to be carried by a Boeing Delta II from Vandenberg AFB, California, has been delayed until at least December so the spacecraft can be returned to Alcatel Space for an inspection of its solar array deployment system. The delay will also affect the launch of NASA's Timed (thermosphere, ionosphere, mesosphere, energetics and dynamics) satellite (Flight International, 14-20 August).
